Author Guidelines
The journal Problems of Oriental Philosophy publishes high-quality scholarly articles that contribute to the development of research in Oriental philosophy, Islamic philosophy, comparative philosophy, intellectual history of Eastern civilizations, and related disciplines.
Authors are invited to submit original research articles, review articles, and theoretical studies that provide new insights into philosophical traditions and contemporary interpretations of Eastern thought.
- Language of Manuscripts
Manuscripts may be submitted in:
- English
Regardless of the language of the manuscript, the title, abstract, and keywords must be provided in English. Authors are strongly encouraged to ensure that the manuscript is written in clear academic language and professionally edited prior to submission.

The journal publishes the following categories of manuscripts:

- Conceptual / Theoretical Papers
- Comparative Philosophical Studies
Manuscripts must correspond to the scientific scope and profile of the journal.
- Manuscript Structure
Title
The title should:
- Clearly reflect the content of the study
- Be concise and informative
- Avoid abbreviations
- Not exceed 10–13 words
The title must be written in capital letters, bold, and centered.
Titles should be provided in:
- English
Author Information
The title page must include:
- Full name of the author(s)
- Academic degree and title
- Institutional affiliation (department, university, country)
- Full institutional address
- Postal code, city, and country
- Author position and workplace
- Corresponding author’s email address
- ORCID ID (recommended)
Author information should be provided in English.
Abstract
The abstract should summarize the article clearly and concisely.
Requirements:
- 200–250 words
- Written in the third person
- No citations or abbreviations
- No paragraph indentation
The abstract must include:
- Purpose of the research
- Research methodology
- Main findings
- Scientific contribution and conclusions
Abstracts must be provided in:
- English
Keywords
Keywords help indexing and searchability of the article.
Requirements:
- 5–10 keywords
- Written in lowercase letters
- Separated by commas
Keywords must be provided in:
- English
- Main Text Structure
The manuscript should follow internationally accepted academic structure.
Introduction
This section should include:
- Background of the research
- Relevance of the topic
- Research objectives and questions
- Scientific novelty of the study
Literature Review / Degree of Theme Development
The author should analyze previous studies related to the topic and demonstrate how the current research contributes to the existing body of knowledge.
Methodology
This section should clearly describe:
- Research methods
- Analytical approaches
- Sources and data used in the research
Main Discussion / Analysis
The author should:
- Present arguments and analysis
- Compare findings with previous studies
- Provide critical evaluation of the topic
Results
This section should present the main findings of the research.
Results should be clear, logical, and supported by evidence.
Conclusion
The conclusion should summarize:
- Main research findings
- Scientific significance of the study
- Possible directions for future research
Recommendations
Where relevant, authors may include practical implications or recommendations based on the research results.
- Technical Formatting Requirements
Manuscripts must be prepared according to the following parameters:
- Paper size: A4
- Orientation: Portrait
- Margins: 2 cm on all sides
- Font: Times New Roman
- Font size: 12 pt
- Line spacing: 1.5
- Paragraph indentation: 1 cm
- Text alignment: Justified
Page numbers should not be added by the authors.
The recommended article length is:
12–25 pages
- Tables and Figures
Tables and figures must:
- Be numbered sequentially (Table 1, Figure 1, etc.)
- Include a clear and descriptive title
- Indicate source information where applicable
- Be placed within the text near their first reference
- References
All manuscripts must follow the APA (7th edition) referencing style.
Requirements:
- All sources cited in the text must appear in the reference list
- References should be arranged alphabetically
- Author–date citation system must be used in the text (Author, Year)
Authors are encouraged to include recent scholarly sources (preferably from the last 5–10 years).
- Submission Requirements
Manuscripts must meet the following requirements:
- The manuscript must be original and unpublished
- It must not be under review in another journal
- The article must comply with ethical publishing standards
Manuscripts should be submitted in DOCX (Microsoft Word) format.
Due to the double-blind peer review process, authors must submit two separate files:
- Anonymous Manuscript File
- No author names or identifying information
- Title Page File
Including:
- Author names and affiliations
- ORCID IDs
- Corresponding author information
- Author contribution statement
- Funding information (if applicable)
- Conflict of interest declaration
- Ethical approval statement (if required)
- Acknowledgements (optional)
- Ethical Standards
The journal follows strict publication ethics policies.
Authors must ensure that:
- The manuscript contains original work
- All sources are properly cited
- The work does not involve plagiarism or duplicate publication
